easy town books has a no tracking and minimum data collection policy.
Whatever data is needed to process your communications or your orders will be solely used for those purposes, and your data will be deleted when our transactions are completed.
Depending on whether you send an email, or buy an e-book or a limited edition, or whether you decide to support the projects, some additional points apply, and you’ll find them in the paragraphs below.
FIRST THINGS FIRST
How to buy an e-book or a limited edition with the least data processing involved?
Use the option: pay directly via bank transfer
If you want to avoid all third-party payment methods and automated data collection, you can transfer the sum of your purchases directly to the easy town books account.
In that case, the only data transfer will be between you and easy town books with no third parties involved.
You name, address and email will solely be used to process your order.
Depending on whether you buy an e-book or a limited edition, or whether you decide to support the projects, some additional points apply, and you will find them in the following paragraphs.

Using the contact form
When you send an email via a contact form, only your email address is required to answer your message. It’s up to you to give your name or not.
Neither the contact form nor the email is stored on the website server.
Apart from your email no other data is collected.
Your message and your data will be transmitted via TLS, thereby making sure that your data is safe.
Your email address will solely be used to answer your message. After the correspondence is concluded, your email(s) and your data will be deleted within a week.
Concluded means that all the issues you presented in your message(s) have been addressed.
Email addresses will not be stored for future use or shared with third parties, unless there are legal reasons to do so.
Buying an e-book
The application used to process your e-book purchases will record pages visited and content viewed while your session is active.
Any e-book you add to your basket will be recorded so that it can be displayed on the checkout page.
On the checkout page, you have the option to make a note of the final sum of your purchases and proceed to the page: pay directly via bank transfer,
or you choose one of the other payment options (third-party options).
If you choose a third-party option, personal information about you will be collected during the checkout process.
This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and any other details that might be requested from you for the purpose of processing your order.
This data is collected to
- send you order information
- respond to your queries, refund requests, or complaints
- process payments
- prevent fraudulent transactions
- provide technical and/or customer support
- verify your identity.
If you place an order, or if taxes need to be estimated, the application will check your location and traffic data (including IP address and browser type).
Once the payment process is completed, you will be redirected back to the easy town books website and your download link will be displayed. In addition you will receive an email with your download link.
It is not possible to create an account on the easy town books website for future orders. Your customer data recorded by the download application will be deleted within seven days. This also means that your download link will expire after 7 days.
Find more information about payment options below.
Downloading a free download
Presently there are two files available as free download which are processed via the download application used for sales.
The limited editions catalogue, and the extracts collection Nku killed her.
The application used for the free downloads requires a full name and an email address.
However, you can enter fake data since the download link will be displayed after you click on purchase.
If you enter an existing email address, you will receive an email with the download link.
In both cases, the name and the email address entered will be deleted within seven days of the download.
The only reason I use this way for the catalogue downloads is to get an idea of how often the catalogue has been downloaded.
In no case will your data be shared, sold, used, analysed, or kept beyond the seven days.
Downloading a free pdf
There are presently two free pdf downloads available which work with a simple pdf link.
42 towns and counting (cover collection) and Q & A, limited edition, text only
In both cases no private data is recorded.
Buying a limited edition Fine Art Print
When you buy a limited edition, your private data is exclusively used to correspond with you regarding your order, to issue your limited edition certificate, to issue your invoice, and to send your Fine Art Print to your address.
Once all transactions are completed, and the 30-days within which you can return the print are past, most of your data and correspondence will be deleted.
This includes all your emails and your email address, and the data recorded about your purchase by the easy town website.
All this data will be deleted within 50 days after posting your Fine Art Print.
The only data that will be kept is a record of you as the legitimate owner of a limited edition, and a copy of your invoice.
This includes the copy of your certificate, printed and as file, plus an entry in the owner list.
This data will be kept indefinitely on a secure hard drive.
A copy of your invoice will be kept for ten years, in accordance with the German tax law.
No part of your data will be shared with any third party, nor will it be analysed or used in any other way or form.
An exception to these rules can occur when legal action due to a legal disagreement, copyright violations or fraud make the involvement of a third party necessary.
Supporting the easy town projects
It is entirely up to you how much personal data you want to share when supporting the easy town projects.
When you do share personal data, you can indicate whether your data should be deleted within seven days after reception of your data, or whether it should be kept for further co-operation.
Whenever financial transactions are involved, a copy of those transactions will be kept for tax purposes.
In no event will your personal data be shared with third parties unless legal actions are required.
